Bernie Lanigan

Tropic Sun's Love's Labour's Lost in 2008 is Bernie’s 10th show with Tropic Sun in its numerous guises and incarnations.

As a “Community Performer”, he has treasured the opportunity to perform against artists he has seen go on to “greater things” and is particularly happy to be working with Terri Brabon and Brendan O'Connor as prime examples. He is also very grateful to have had such a close relationship with Jean-Pierre Voos.

Bernie is an optometrist by profession and has performed on Townsville’s stages for more than 25 years. Alongside his opportunities with Tropic Sun, Bernie lists his performances as Jean Valjean and Javert in Les Miserables, his Townsville City Council Arts Culture and Entertainment Award for services to the Arts in Townsville (1996) and the role of the Major General opposite Jon English and Simon Gallaher in Simon’s Pirates of Penzance as personally very satisfying.
