AGAMEMNOM
In 1975 -78 Voos with his KISS Research Theatre Company produced a version of the Orestes story that was indeed based on the only extant trilogy that has come down to us, namely Aeschylus’ ORESTEIA. In what became known as the KISS’ORESTEIA part one consisted of Aeschylus’ AGAMEMNON – presented in Ancient Greek – part two followed the story through Sophocles’ ELECTRA (which corresponds with Aeschylus’ THE LIBATION BEARERS), this was presented in Latin. Finally part three, now followed the story-line through Euripides’ ORESTES (which corresponds to THE EUMENIDIES) and this was spoken in American; the journey was complete.
In 1993 Voos renewed his production of AGAMEMNON in Ancient Greek with an all-Australian cast and after a run in Townsville, the play toured to Melbourne and Gladstone.
