Before Text
Approaching theatre without words.
These workshops will give the actor the skills and abilities to trust their emotional and physical response to the text. This will be done by analysing text through movement, voice and instruments.
Before Words Were?
The play before the words. How do we explore the play without words?
Through movement, voice, soundscape.
How do we interpret the text without speaking the words? What drives the character/ why does he/she do what they do? Who is to blame or what is the motive?
What is the basic/fundamental reason behind the character?
What does the playwright mean when he writes particular words or directions?
How to empower yourself as the actor to interpret and develop the character without saying a word

WEEK TWO
Monday 7 to Friday 11 July
Designed for actors already working professionally. Participants will experience a resovoir or mental and creative energy to mobilise themselves and to how their individual abilities can be re-arranged, stretched, re-configured and combined with those of others.
